Is your community Aging-friendly?

Take our survey or share with multiple people in your community to see how Aging-Friendly your community is!. Reach out to the Life Span Program Manager, Sara Richie (sara.richie@wisc.edu) with questions or support with surveying your community.

The survey focuses on several areas of community living that affect the quality of life of all residents of a community:

  • Housing
  • Transportation, Accessibility, and Parking
  • Sidewalks and Pedestrian Crossings
  • Community and Health Care Services
  • Family Caregiving
  • Nutrition and Wellness
  • Arts, Culture, and Lifelong Learning
  • Employment and Workforce Development
  • Public Safety and Emergency Planning
  • Respect and Social Inclusion
  • Community Connectedness: Civic Engagement and Volunteer Opportunities
  • Taxation, Finance, and Protection Against Fraud
  • Community Leadership and Intergenerational Collaboration

In 2013 an academic article was written using data collected with this survey tool in 2011 and 2012: Perceptions of Aging-Friendly Community Characteristics published in Vol. 8. Issue 2 of The Online Journal of Rural Research and Policy.
